SARA ANELLO, CO-PRESIDENT Senior Pipeline and Portfolio Analyst, The George Washington University Eight years into her career in prospect development, Sara approaches her work with frontline fundraisers with intentional warmth and analytical precision alike. She focuses on leveraging data insights to foster success for her clients, with an eye to improve systems along the way. A graduate of the University of California at Davis (History), Sara previously worked in a combined prospect research and relationship management role for Salisbury University. She began her involvement with Apra International (past member, Advocacy Committee) and Apra Maryland (past Membership Chair) in 2020. The unique camaraderie and generosity of the prospect development community is a huge part of her motivation to serve on the Apra Maryland board. When not working or volunteering, Sara enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons, planning a native plant garden, and wistfully aspiring to become a minimalist. |
FRANK CHOI, CO-PRESIDENT Director of Advancement Services, Montgomery College With 20 years in the Development field, Frank Choi has focused much of his career in prospect research and management. He has worked at varied institutions such as The Philadelphia Orchestra, Temple University, Johns Hopkins University, Children's National Medical Center, and McDaniel College. Throughout his career, Frank has managed databases and leveraged wealth screening platforms to direct prospect research and pipeline management. |
THERESA CLARK, PRESIDENT EMERITUS Associate Director of Donor Data and Analytics, Foundation Fighting Blindness Theresa has over 9 years of experience in data analysis & reporting, prospect research, prospect development & strategy, moves management, donor relations, and fundraising operations. She has been an Apra Maryland member since 2014, and during 2018 became a member of the Apra Maryland board. She is a graduate of James Madison University, in Harrisonburg, VA, where she majored in Health Communication and double minored in Statistics and Sociology. A native of northern Virginia, Theresa has been a proud Baltimore transplant since 2015. Frequent travelers, she and her husband share their Pigtown townhouse with three rescue cats. When not traveling to random international locales, Theresa can be found downhill skiing at high speeds, axe throwing, or on a contemplative hike. |

MARCUS HARDRICK, COMMUNICATIONS CHAIR Assistant Director, Prospect Management and Data Analytics at Bloomberg School of Public Health, Johns Hopkins Marcus Hardrick is an emerging fundraising professional with a unique background in the arts. Holding both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in arts-related fields, Marcus used his eye for creative solutions to transition into the scene of fundraising-related data. Marcus joined the APRA Maryland board in January 2024 and is excited to meet all the development professionals during his tenure. In his free time, Marcus loves traveling to national parks, learning new instruments, and playing chess. |
LANELL PATRICK, MEMBERSHIP CHAIR Advancement Research Analyst, Loyola University Maryland For more than 25 years, Lanell’s work in marketing and fundraising has garnered significant funding in support of organization initiatives, enabling growth and corporate performance in the public and private sectors. In her current role as the Advancement Research Analyst at Loyola University Maryland, Lanell supports the strategic direction of the advancement and alumni engagement teams. Outside of work, she enjoys gardening, kayaking, and adventures with her husband and son. |
KRISTIN VITALE, EVENTS CHAIR Manager, Events & Research, National Aquarium Kristin has 10 years’ experience planning donor events and facilitating her team’s and the executive office’s research needs. Prior to her current role, she coordinated her department’s grant proposals and reporting cycles. Having graduated from Towson University majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in marketing, her time in marketing translated well to the nonprofit sector, particularly building relationships with donors through events. |
![]() | NAYELI GARCIA MOWBRAY, BUSINESS & COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT CHAIR Principal Consultant, Chameleon Collaborative Nayeli has devoted her career to non-profit operations and fundraising, drawing from her experiences internationally and from the private, government, and higher education sectors. A detail-oriented and big-picture thinker, she embraces roles that make a difference professionally and in her community. She has worked in various nonprofit settings and as a consultant to advance education, the arts, social justice, and environmental issues. Nayeli launched Chameleon Collaborative, LLC in early 2024, to realize her dream of owning her own business while creating a platform for independent consultants with specialized skills to combine their strengths for the benefit of their clients. Nayeli lived the majority of her life in Baltimore City and in 2021 relocated to the Susquehanna River region, where she currently lives with her husband, son, 2 cats, and 4 hens. |
