STAYING ENGAGED AT ANY STAGE

Gallup defines engaged employees as those who are involved in, enthusiastic about and committed to their work and workplace. Through Gallup Daily tracking, Gallup categorizes workers as "engaged" based on their responses to 12 key workplace elements it has found predict important personal and organizational performance outcomes. 

During this session you will: 

  • Complete an "Action Plan" that will move you towards greater engagement and satisfaction!
  • Discuss times in your current situation when you feel the most energy and engagement, and identify what is most important to you in a job

  • Explore the different "types" of engagement or disengagement

  • Complete a quick assessment addressing 12 key areas to identify your current level of engagement

  • Learn specific techniques and strategies to move towards greater engagement in your current workplace, as well has how to apply them in taking steps towards a new job

  • Explore the possibility of re-designing your current career and/or identify other opportunities

Join this engaging session, hosted by your Mid-Atlantic Apra Chapters, and led by Holly Heilberg, Career Coach and Counselor!

Upon completing her Masters in Education Holly pursued her passion for helping others identify and develop their career aspirations. This important work led to serving as a Career Coach and Counselor at a variety of UVA Schools including The McIntire School of Commerce, The School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, The School of Nursing and the Central University Career Services office. Her most recent position was as the Career Development and Training Specialist at UVA's Center for Leadership Development. In this capacity she coordinated career development programs and services for the staff and Faculty at UVA.

Prior to this Holly provided outplacement services for over 150 displaced employees for the telecommunications industry and provided coaching and training for NGIC, Albemarle County, Mary Baldwin College, PVCC (adjunct faculty), the City of Charlottesville, General Electric and other numerous local and regional businesses. She was also recognized for initiating and coordinating several successful Career Development Conferences while at UVA.

Her other accomplishments include serving as President of the local Chapter for Training and Development where she received the Chapter's top leadership award. During her tenure at UVA she was also nominated for the prestigious Leonard Sandridge Award.
