Are you so busy with routine requests in your role that you have struggled to find the time to implement new projects?  We are excited that Katie Princo, Development Research Analyst at the University of Colorado, will revisit her presentation first shared at APRA PD in 2019, just for our Apra Maryland audience!

Over the past decade, the University of Colorado embarked on a journey from a completely reactive shop with no visibility or connections to fundraisers to being a strategic partner.  They leveraged new policies and procedures, increasing visibility with leadership, giving development colleagues access to more resources and tools (and training) to empower them, and freed up time for projects they couldn’t have even dreamed of before, such as predictive modeling, new ratings (ie. in-house affinity and bequest ratings), proactive feeds, prospect management, and large-scale analyses (pool and campaign analyses).

Katie will share examples showing how the University of Colorado made changes at a project level and how they achieved the advocacy necessary for the new direction. It also includes some advice for building relationships with gift officers and tips for saying “no” and setting good boundaries for your work.
