Session Description:

Sure, the larger shops have the luxury of more money and resources, but that doesn’t mean the fundamentals of Prospect Research are any different from them and smaller shops. Ultimately, everyone’s doing the same research, looking at the same data, and working from the same basic methodology. This workshop will help show some ways to tailor the methods larger shops have developed for smaller shops. From simple ways of developing a request log to track your activity to a checklist of resources when researching, find the fast and efficient nuts and bolts of prospect researching that works for your shop.

Presenter Bio:

As Executive Director of Advancement Services at McDaniel College, Frank Choi oversees the prospect research and prospect management, data services, and gift processing for the College’s Institutional Advancement Department. With over 18 years experience in Development, he has worked for large organizations such as Temple University, Johns Hopkins University and Children’s National Medical Center (now Children’s National Health System) and smaller organizations such as University of the Sciences in Philadelphia and The Domestic Violence Center of Howard County. Currently a board member of APRA - Maryland Chapter, Frank has had the pleasure of presenting at the annual APRA International Conference and an APRA - MD webinar session.
